Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice program at Lycoming may be one of the College’s best. In fact, one of the college guides, Rugg’s Recommendations on the Colleges, recognized our program as one of the top 25 in the country. Since Lycoming graduated its first Criminal Justice major in 1976, the program has become the College’s fourth-largest major by enrollment, reflecting the dynamic nature of this academic field and its growing importance in American society. One thing that sets Lycoming College apart from other schools is the course work we have to offer. The major in Criminal Justice is interdisciplinary in approach as it examines the social, psychological, philosophical, and political context of the American justice system. Students are taught to integrate theory constructions with practical application in practicums and internships.
