The theatre major involves a distinctive “track system,” in which each student selects a specific program of study in the areas of acting, directing, or design/tech, in addition to a group of core courses. The Theatre Department offers advanced courses in each of these specialized tracks, as well as “studio” courses, which enable students to work one-on-one with their professors.
All students majoring in theatre must complete the core courses and the requirements for at least one of the three tracks listed below.
Core courses required of all majors include introductory theatre, acting, play production, stage makeup, theatre history, theatre and culture, and a senior project.
