After completing high school, Claude Hardy began his career as a welder. He studied Communications at Indiana Wesleyan University. During his tenure at Wayne State University while pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Design, Professor Hardy realized how vital his metal work experience would influence his craft. He has designed the scenery for Henry IV, Part 1, Rumors, and Pride and Prejudice. He has also acted as Technical Director for The Kentucky Cycle, Parts 1 and 2, Mother Courage and Her Children, Misalliance, and The Inspector General. His theatrical interests include Technical Direction, as well as Scenic and Lighting Design. Hardy spent time in Russia studying at the Moscow Art Theatre. His research interests include contemporary and historical Scenic Design in Russia.
