WELCOME TO SOCIOLOGY/ANTHROPOLOGY

The Sociology/Anthropology major is designed for two different types of students: the student who wants to study the “pure” theoretical aspects of sociology and anthropology and the student who wants to pursue the application of sociology and anthropology to the Human Service field.

If you have an academic interest in the study of sociology and/or anthropology, you will find the Traditional Track of this major would be a great preparation for your pursuit of a graduate degree.

If you plan to join the work force right after college,
you’ll find that the Human Service Track will prepare you for
work in the area of social services. In particular, our students
have found themselves to be extremely marketable when
coupling a Sociology/Anthropology major with a minor in
areas such as Business, Computer Science, Economics,
English, or Foreign Languages.
