GREETINGS

My name is Brian Yeager and I'm from Pottsville, PA, just a short hour and a half to the southeast of Lycoming.

For as long as I can remember, my dream has been to become involved with the field of law. Realizing this dream and doing something about it, however, are two completely different matters. Realizing it involved determining what I wanted to do and subtly attuning my senses towards fostering this goal. This was easy and really took no extra effort on my part.

Doing something about this goal was where Lycoming interceded in my life path. Knowing what I wanted to do coming into Lycoming College, I weighed my options of majors, finally deciding, at least initially, on Political Science. Lycoming's liberal arts education permitted me the flexibility and freedom to decide my future. My freshman year, I took classes in religion, psychology, and literature. These were all attempts to broaden my thinking and reasoning patterns to more closely reflect my aspirations of law school.

The pre-law department lent itself perfectly to Lycoming's liberal arts program. Students in the pre-law program come from various majors, some focusing on social sciences or arts while others concern themselves with the natural sciences. Through practice LSAT testing, availability of several LSAT guides, and Dr. Whelan's immeasurable help, a path once considered a dream was now materializing as something more tangible.

Recently, I took Dr. Whelan's LSAT prep course along with 8 other like-minded students. Let me tell you, its effect on me surpassed all previous attempts at LSAT clarity. The confusing was now made clear and that which was previously impossible became only marginally difficult. Dr. Whelan's frank and concise method of teaching, explaining, and practicing not only the LSAT but the entire school of legal thought ultimately made all the difference. It is not so much that he teaches you what you do not know, but rather that he teaches you to see what you already do know.

As a graduating senior, I will be applying to many law schools in hopes of continuing my knowledge of law beyond Lycoming. Between my liberal arts education (including a legal writing class), the practice LSAT's, and the LSAT prep course, I will take the LSAT and apply to law schools fully confident that I can and will not only achieve my goals, but in doing so surpass even that which I previously believed possible.
