WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE

      A major in Political Science at Lycoming College is an excellent preparation for careers in the legal profession; law enforcement; civil service; federal, state and local government; urban planning; journalism; and in any of the organizations that seek to monitor or influence the political process. Lycoming College offers its Political Science students a comprehensive view of world politics, American politics, and legal studies. Yet advanced courses target a number of special interests including women and politics, public opinion and polling, civil rights and liberties, mass media law and regulation, and American foreign policy.

      As a strictly undergraduate institution, Lycoming can offer students extensive
opportunities to conduct independent study or
to work closely with professors in their research.
