Student receives international award of excellence

Molly BolandWILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Molly Boland, a recent Lycoming College graduate with a double major in German and international studies, was one of 40 students to receive the Phi Kappa Phi Award of Excellence. This scholarship recognizes students entering their first year of graduate or professional study.

Boland is a resident of Lititz, Pa., and a graduate of Warwick High School. While at Lycoming, she participated in Amnesty International, German club, choir and band. She also spent her junior year studying abroad in Bamberg, Germany, which was partially sponsored by a Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Award.

Phi Kappa Phi, founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, is the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines. Its chapters are on more than 300 campuses in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. Each year, approximately 30,000 members are initiated.
