Lycoming College presentation to focus on capitalism

Stan SloterWILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Stan Sloter, a 1980 Lycoming College alumnus and president of Paradigm Companies, returns to the College to speak as part of the Institute for Management Studies’ James W. Harding Executive Speaker Series. His speech, “Adding Value - Capitalism and Entrepreneurship,” will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Barclay Lecture Hall, Heim Building. The event is free and open to the public.

Paradigm Companies, headquartered in Arlington, Va., is a development, construction and management company with more than 400 employees and sites in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Sloter, who is a member of the Lycoming College Board of Trustees, graduated from the College with a bachelor of arts in business management and earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

The James W. Harding Executive Speaker Series is named for James W. Harding, a 1938 graduate of the College and native of Montoursville, Pa. Harding was an executive with Kemper Insurance. Lycoming was awarded a grant from the James S. Kemper Foundation in Long Grove, Ill., to endow the speaker series. As a result, students have the opportunity to meet and network with some of America’s top business executives. These speakers have included executives from numerous internationally-recognized companies and firms. Guest speakers often visit classrooms and dine with students prior to their public presentations.
