Lycoming College environmental club to host several Earth Day events 

Lycoming College’s environmental club will host several events April 14-19 in honor of Earth Day. Lycoming Environmental Awareness Foundation (LEAF) is a student organization that promotes environmental awareness on the Lycoming campus through the use of educational programs, local field activities and outdoor recreation.

On Monday, April 14, there will be a tie-die party in the Academic Center’s Pennington Lounge from 7-9 p.m. Participants are asked to bring their own clothing. The cost of participating is $1.00 per article of clothing.

On Tuesday, April 15, there will be various Earth Day activities in Pennington Lounge, including make-your-own recycled potted plants and wind chimes. There will also be food and music. Winners of the College’s Recyclemania contest will be announced.

On Thursday, April 17, guest speaker David Radcliff will speak about environmental justice and his work in East Asia and Africa at 7 p.m. in Heim G-11.

On Saturday, April 19, LEAF will be sponsoring a trip to an indoor rock wall at Dynomats.
