Lycoming College to host career fair March 12

Lycoming College will host “Career Fair 2008” Wednesday, March 12 from 1-6 p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium for students and the general public. The fair will feature more than 40 employers from throughout the tri-state area, including numerous local employers. The fair is sponsored by Geisinger Health System, Clear Channel Radio Williamsport and the Lycoming College Career Development Center.

Both internship and job opportunities will be available at this event, and professional dress is recommended. Attendees should also bring multiple copies of their resume and be prepared to explain their qualifications.

Representing the insurance sector include AFLAC, AIG American General and Baltimore Life.

In the health and human services field, the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center, Diversified Treatment Alternatives, Geisinger Health System, HCR Manor Care, Hope Enterprises, Interim Health Care, Keystone Human Services, Susquehanna Health and Valley View Nursing Center will be available. Healthcare product manufacturer and distributor First Quality will have representatives available.

Employers representing the transportation industry include J.P. Donmoyer, Inc., Milton Transportation and the Professional Drivers Academy. Industrial and technological companies Grizzly Industrial, Fastenal, Inc., Primus Technologies and the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania will be present. Representatives from the Target Distribution Center will also be in attendance.

Employment agencies Ashford Staffing, DePasquale Staffing and Manpower Services will be represented, along with customer contact services provider American Customer Care. Specialized staffing and promotional agency Keystone Wood Products Association will have representatives at the event.

Opportunities in criminal justice will be available from the Pennsylvania State Police, State Correctional Institution at Muncy and the United States Penitentiary Lewisburg. Representatives from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marines will also be at the fair.

Other employers that plan to send representatives include Brickman, a commercial landscaping company, Croda, Inc., a manufacturer of specialty chemicals, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Glen Mills Schools, Mary Kay, a makeup and cosmetics company, MoJo Active, Inc., an advanced communications company, Pine Creek Veterinary Associates and Primerica Financial Services.
