The Lycoming College Religion Department and the new Judaic studies program, in conjunction with the Angel Fund and Ohev Sholom Synagogue on Cherry Street, Williamsport, are sponsoring a talk by Rabbi Tovia Singer, at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, in Heim G-09. Singer’s presentation is titled “Beyond the Biblical Text - Jewish Oral Interpretive Tradition.”
Singer lectures more than 200 times a year around the world, speaking on such topics as anti-Semitism, holocaust revisionism, Jewish and Christian history, and Christian Missionaries. He is the founder and director of Outreach Judaism, an international organization aimed at countering the efforts of fundamentalist groups that target Jews for conversion.
Singer also hosts a radio program, “The Tovia Singer Show,” on Israel National Radio. The show focuses on current Jewish issues. He is the author of the book and accompanying audiotape series “Let’s Get Biblical.”
