This exhibition, researched and curated by Dr. Amy Golahny, professor of art history, features photographs of stained glass windows in ten houses of worship, built before 1910. The windows are not only stunningly beautiful examples of stained glass, but they also reveal a facet of the community’s history, reflecting Williamsport’s prosperity during the lumbering era. Makers include New York’s Tiffany and Lamb companies and Philadelphia’s D’Ascenzio Company and Gettier Studios. The nine churches and one Jewish Temple represent the community’s diversity. |
