GREETINGS

John Stark, '08
Major: German

Hi my name is John Stark. Having grown up in Lewisburg not far from Williamsport, I found the distance to the college very comfortable. I found it to fit my needs both academically and athletically. Having an interest in Foreign Language, I decided to study German. Why German you may ask, in 6th grade, I felt an immediate attachment to the language when I began studying the language in school. I soon found out that I had a knack for foreign languages. I decided to visit Lycoming because I heard they had an excellent language department, not to mention its hands on approach to the courses and availability to help their students develop their language skills needed to perform well. On top of German, I am also taking some Spanish classes to help broaden my skills even more.
Outside of the Classroom I focus on playing Lacrosse. As a sophomore, I'm working hard to break myself into the starting line-up. Having the ability and time to participate in varsity athletics and the academic area of interest I enjoy, I had found that perfect balance I had been looking for in a college!
