GREETINGS

Hi, I’m Tiffany Zappulla from Hackettstown, New Jersey. I am pursuing a double major in International Studies and Sociology with a minor in Spanish.

I really enjoy Lycoming’s International Studies program, especially the great teachers like Dr. Roskin in Political Science and Dr. Larson in History. The major is perfect for me because it integrates political science, history, and languages (I could not pick which one I liked the most!).

Even though I am just a sophomore I plan to spend part of my junior year studying in Latin America. After graduation, I plan to join the Peace Corps and eventually sit for the Foreign Service Exam and work for an overseas American embassy.

International studies is a challenging, but rewarding major. I do spend a lot of time with the books, but like most Lyco students, I find time to participate in some extracurricular activities. Presently I serve as webmaster for the Lycourier, Lycoming’s award winning newspaper and as Vice President of the Shokotan Karate Club. I also volunteer as a Best Buddy, a program which matches Lyco students with area children in need of a friend.

There are so many reasons that Lycoming was the right choice for me and it may just be the right choice for you.

Good luck with your college search! I hope to see you on campus!
