What is RSS?

RSS, which is an acronym for "Really Simple Syndication," is used by websites to publish frequently updated content. Readers can subscribe to RSS feeds and receive news and other updates from many sites in one convenient place without having to actually visit the sites. RSS feeds can be subscribed to and read using software called an "RSS reader" or "aggregator," or even using a web browser. Aggregators can be web-based software or desktop software. Below is a list of recommended RSS Agregators.

Bloglines - A free web-based RSS Aggregator.

FeedDemon - A desktop RSS Aggregator for Windows.

NetNewsWire - An RSS reader for Mac OS X.
