Snowden Library
People attending conferences at
Lycoming College may use the Snowden Library under similar
guidelines as those developed for community borrowers.
They may enter the library during our
public hours. In the summer that is normally 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The library is not accessible to them during those hours which are
restricted to Lycoming College students, faculty and staff, as well
as, when the library is staffed by a student worker.
They may use print reference
materials, newspapers, circulating books, government documents and
print journals within the library. There are no borrowing privileges
extended unless an individual qualifies under the normal community
borrower guidelines.
They may ask for quick reference
service when an instructional service librarian is available at the
reference desk. We do not provide extended reference service.
They may use our three computer
stations dedicated to accessing our book collection. The other
computers may only be used if an instructional service librarian
feels it is appropriate for a reference need. We do not provide
computer access for word processing, e-mail, chat rooms, or general
surfing of the web for entertainment purposes.
