The FYRST

Freshman residence halls Skeath and Asbury. It consists of several key
elements, including our
FYRST
programming series, which will ease you into college life and living
in the residence halls. Additionally, there are fun and exciting
opportunities for you to meet new people and develop new skills.
Sessions begin during 1st Weekend and continue through the spring
semester. Programming includes both academic and social adjustment
topics as well as plenty of social events to help you get to know
your new classmates and friends. Following are a few things you ought
to know about some of the upperclassmen involved in this program...
Resident Advisors
(RAs) are upper class students selected on the basis of leadership skills.
RAs live among students and provide information, refer students to campus
and local resources, help enforce College and community standards, use
helping skills for students in need, and facilitate educational and social
programs. Most importantly, RAs assist in the development and maintenance
of strong, positive residence hall communities. RAs work with you to enhance
the out of classroom experience for all members of the community.
