José Texidor is an Adjunct Instructor in the Criminal Justice Department and arrived at Lycoming College in the Fall semester of 2008. As a Special Part-time Instructor, Mr. Texidor maintains a full-time teaching load of three Criminal Justice courses each semester. Mr. Texidor is a retired Marine JAG (military defense attorney), former military policeman, twenty year criminal justice instructor in other colleges and universities, and employee of youth detention centers and residences. Mr. Texidor's worldly experiences permits him to present numerous Criminal Justice courses involving areas that include Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, issues in Police Law Enforcement, and Introduction to Criminal Justice.
A native New Yorker, Mr. Texidor earned his college degrees while on active with Marine Corps. He received his AAS in Liberal Arts from Northern Virginia Community College in 1978, BA from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in NYC in 1982, and his JD from Hofstra University, School of Law in 1986. Except for a two year assignment from 1994-1996, Mr. Texidor has lived in State College, PA since 1991 when he was assigned as Marine Officer Instructor and Assistant Professor of Naval Science at the Pennsylvania State University (PSU). He had spent nearly eight years in military overseas assignments centered in Okinawa, Japan. He retired from the Marines in 1996. Since his retirement, Mr. Texidor continued with PSU as a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice, Director of the PSU Paralegal Program, Instructor for the PA Deputy Sheriff's Academy, Attorney for the PSU 80000+ students, Instructor at Lock Haven University, and other many other volunteer services for PSU and community organizations. He even ran for Judge as an independent candidate for Centre County in 1997.
