        How could I get involved in the Creative Writing major, perform in theatre productions as well as a rock band on campus, have a hit radio show – “Attorney At Rock” – and also have time for my studies? For me the answer was simple: attend Lycoming College.

        Even before I was a student, Lycoming representatives were constantly telling me how involved I could be on campus, and how you can be a “big fish in a small pond.” A small, inviting atmosphere was one of the most important criteria in my college search (receiving the $2500 Creative Writing Scholarship helped as well.)

       Creative writing is one of my many artistic passions, and I was lucky enough to find a great program here at Lyco. Dr. Hawkes and Dr. Feinstein have been
great in helping me develop as a writer. While the course load is
demanding, it still leaves me plenty of free time to participate in lots
of extra activities. I can honestly say that to this point, Lycoming is
one of the best decisions that I have made.

        Although graduation is three years away, I am already
planning a career as a fiction writer. Furthermore, I plan on
becoming the next great American literary hero, and hope to
eventually be mentioned in the same breath with Mark Twain
and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Sure, it sounds lofty, but with
preparation and hard work anything is possible.
