GREETINGS

My name is Kayla Scott, and I am a junior from Allentown, Pennsylvania.

I am a corporate communication major with minors in Business and Biology here at Lycoming College.

Hailing from a small town, Lycoming was a cozy fit from the start and has become my second home. While in my college search, I visited big and small schools alike, and I immediately fell in love with Lycoming for its charming atmosphere, welcoming students, and friendly professors.

I am involved with several different aspects of the communication department, including the National Broadcasting Society and the campus newspaper, The Lycourier. My other campus involvements include Greek life, the National Pan-Hellenic Council and a campus work-study program with the Institute of Management Studies.

This past summer, I attended the May Term trip “A European Business Experience” with the IMS department.   Along with our professors, several students and I traveled to London, Prague, Paris and Belgium. Not only did we meet with some of Europe’s most prominent business leaders, but we also indulged ourselves in the unique cultures that we immersed ourselves in. The “European Business Experience” opened up so many opportunities for the future and was by far my most rewarding academic experience here at Lycoming.

This summer, I hope to intern in either Washington, D.C. or even Prague in the areas of marketing and communication. After graduating from Lycoming College, I hope to work in the industry of Pharmaceutical sales and marketing and I know that my degree from Lycoming will give me the poise and confidence one needs to climb the corporate ladder of today’s leading companies.
