Kim Franco PhoDOGraphy is by far my favorite body of work because it focuses on two of my passions: photography and dogs. This series captures dogs as creatures that reveal human emotion. By cropping tightly or shooting from odd angles, I was able to abstract the images to focus on design elements and facial features. This approach also emphasizes the dominant nature of the dogs. The most difficult part of this project was getting my models to ‘pose’ the way I wanted. In the end I accepted them as they are, using digital photography to take hundreds of pictures of each dog quickly until I captured them just right. |
