Joseph Dixon I usually don’t paint with a picture in my head; I simply put down the color and movement that I am feeling at that particular time. My artwork comes as spontaneous as my mind. However, this series holds a more personal meaning than any of my previous work. The idea I am expressing is a personal reflection on today’s expression toward what should be natural and the stereotypes it gives our human culture. We are overly controlling and connected to something that is supposed to be controlling us. I use the figure to represent the perfection our society seeks and how we unknowingly cause the opposite in a world we have lost sight off long ago. |
