Jay Stewart All My Friends Are Dead is the story of one boy’s journey through a graveyard to a punk-rock show, but there’s a twist; the band just happens to be undead. As ghouls and skeletons burst from the ground, the band rocks out on the mausoleum stage like the famous punk groups of the 1980s. The video is heavily influenced by simple line drawing, Japanese animation, and the punk band The Misfits. The idea for the story comes directly from the title song by Turbonegro, in which they explain that of all their friends are indeed deceased. Judging from the style of music and the lyrical content the cause of death was probably one of their live shows. |
