Amanda Schwanger I come from a wonderful family that exposed me to many different life experiences. Now I am at a crossroad and my artwork represents the confusion I face deciding what to do after I graduate. In this series of photographs, the Brandon Park playground represents my childhood and the hands represent holding onto the life I am leaving behind. The images symbolize childhood, the decision to let go, and the decision to hold onto the past. I want the viewer to be drawn between the security of the past and challenges of the future. Graduation is a turning point for me, a time to leave my childhood behind, learn from my experiences, and embrace a new playground: adulthood. |
