Habitat for Humanity Hosts 5K Run for Shelter
The Lycoming College Chapter of Habitat for Humanity hosted their annual 5K Run for Shelter on Sunday, November 12th. The event raised over $1,100, with the monies helping to finance the cost of Habitat's annual spring break trip. This year, the Lycoming chapter plans to travel to Biloxi, Miss. to help rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina last year.

Warrior Volleyball Wins Conference Championship
The women's volleyball team defeated Scranton to win the Freedom Conference Championship. As champion, the Lady Warriors received an automatic bid to play in the NCAA Tournament. The team traveled to Juniata College to face Haverford in the first round of the NCAA Regional Tournament. The third-seeded Fords defeated the Freedom Conference Champions, but Lycoming showed a spirit that will define 2007. Lycoming Congratulates Deirdre Connelly
Lycoming College congratulates Deirdre P. Connelly '83 for being named one of the 50 most powerful women in business in 2006 as selected by Fortune magazine in its annual rankings of American businesswomen.
Ms. Connelly is currently president of Lilly USA, a position which she has held since June 2005. She received a bachelor's degree in economics and marketing from Lycoming College in 1983. Upon graduation, Ms. Connelly was hired by Lilly as a sales representative. Ms. Connelly is a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Lycoming College Choir Releases CD

The Lycoming College Choir recently released its seventh musical CD collection titled Et resurrexit under the direction of Dr. Fred Thayer. Since the choir's inception in 1947 by Walter McIver, the choir has presented concerts in every state east of the Mississippi River. The choir has toured in Canada, England, Puerto Rico, and Europe.
In its sixth decade, the Lycoming College Choir has performed hundreds of concerts, including appearances in the National Cathedral, the Washington Shrine, the Crystal Cathedral and Saint Patricks Cathedral. The ensemble has sung with the Gregg Smith Singers, The Chieftains, and Barry Manilow. The choir has been featured twice in the Holiday Celebrations at the White House.
