It's as Easy as 1, 2, 3:
- LFAA. Complete the Lycoming Financial Aid Application (LFAA). This is the document that begins your financial aid folder.
- Complete taxes. It is best for you and your parents to complete your tax returns (1040s) before you complete the FAFSA because several questions from this document ask for specific tax information. The FAFSA is available after January 1, 2008 and should be filed no later than March 1, 2008 to meet Lycoming's priority deadline. If you or your parents have not filed your tax returns, you can still submit the FAFSA using estimated income. Once you complete your tax return, you must correct any income or tax data that changed on your FAFSA.
- FAFSA. Complete and return the FAFSA, which determines your eligibility for all federal and Lycoming need-based aid. The paper form can be obtained from your local counseling office. Be sure to list Lycoming and our Title IV code: 003293. Students should mail the FAFSA to the address listed in the FAFSA application booklet. The FAFSA should be filed as soon after January 1, 2008 as possible. Also, keep a photocopy of your completed forms for your records.
From start to finish, the financial aid application process takes approximately six weeks. Financial aid packages will be sent out beginning in early March.
