Hello, my name is Jessica Gough and I live in Berwick, PA. I am a junior at Lycoming and currently triple majoring in Actuarial Mathematics, Mathematics, and Economics.

Lycoming College is one of the few colleges in Pennsylvania that offers Actuarial Mathematics as a major. From the first time I stepped onto Lycoming's campus, I fell in love with it. It is a small college where everyone is considered an individual, instead of a number like at many larger colleges.

I am quite involved in the wonderful mathematics program at Lycoming. The professors in the Math Department are amazing. They are always willing to take time out of their busy schedules to help you with a problem. I am a member and the president of Kappa Mu Epsilon, the national mathematic honor society, as well as the president of the Association of Mathematically Interested Students. I hold tutoring hours at night to help students with their math assignments. For the past two years, I have been a volunteer at Math Awareness Day, a day when middle school students travel to Lycoming to learn abstract math facts.

In addition to academics, I am also dedicated to the campus life of Lycoming. I will be serving as The Class of 2007 president next year after holding the secretary position during the previous year. I am a founding sister and the Financial Vice President of a new sorority on campus, Alpha Xi Delta. I am a member of the Varsity Swim Team where I have achieved First-Team and Second-Team Middle Atlantic Conference status. I am involved in Colleges Against Cancer and am the Sponsor Chair for our Annual Relay for Life. At Lycoming, I am also a member of the Campus Activities Board, the Recreation Board and the Lycoming College Dance Team.

After graduating from Lycoming, I hope to become a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, which is the highest designation that an actuary can achieve. I will have to pass a series of tests to accomplish this goal. I would love to live in the outskirts of a large city and start a family. I hope to be as involved in my community as I am in campus life and help make a difference for future generations.
