GREETINGS
Hey there! My name is James Bechtel, and I'm from the Williamsport area in Muncy Valley.
I chose Lycoming because it has such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, as well as a top notch Accounting program.I also decided to commute to school, which at first I was nervous about, but I still found my niche and fit in really well with the campus community.
Even though I don’t live on campus, I was still able to get involved. I became very active in the Accounting Society, and met other local students in the Commuter Students Organization. I was also fortunate to utilize my golf skills, as I am now a captain on Lycoming’s Golf team.
Lycoming’s Accounting department has had
a great influence on my chances of future success.
Before school I would not have thought
that between my junior and senior year,
I would be interning at the prestigious
PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Philadelphia.
Hopefully that will set me up for a nice job
after college (as it did Joe Dumas, an
Accounting buddy of mine). I also hope
to get my CPA within a year after
graduation. I know it sounds difficult,
but it’s not uncommon for Lyco’s
Accounting students to find immediate
success (just ask ’04 grad Billy Ray).
As my junior year is quickly
coming to an end, I am starting to
enjoy the benefits of three years
of hard work (and good times).
With the help of Lycoming’s faculty and staff, I am going to be able to graduate with more experiences and opportunities than I would have ever imagined.
